I live in a small seaside village on the edge of False Bay where I bring all of my art to life. I spend a lot of time outdoors, appreciating and drawing inspiration from South African nature and the people in my environment. I love mixing modern with traditional to get an unique and authentic African creation. I have so many ideas that I could never paint fast enough to keep up. Its so easy to dream up new characters and to get excited about a colour palette and our South African Art Heritage is brimming with colour.
I'm currrently working on another series called "Of Africa", and everywhere I look nature is bursting with suggestions. I do some sculpting and love creating faces and busts. I also do some portrait photography as a hobbyist. Through photography you can capture remarkable insights, but there is no craft quite like drawing brush across canvas or moulding form into clay.
